OVERVIEW

The Data Protection Officer is responsible for ensuring the company's compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012, NPC circulars, and other applicable data protection laws. The role involves developing policies, conducting training, monitoring compliance, and serving as the main contact for privacy-related concerns.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Ensure compliance with data protection laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Develop, implement, and update privacy policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Conduct data privacy impact assessments and regular compliance audits.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on data protection practices.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the National Privacy Commission (NPC) and other regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor industry trends, global best practices, and recommend improvements.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related course.
  • 2–4 years of experience in data privacy, legal compliance, or IT security.
  • Exposure to E-commerce, Retail, or FMCG sectors preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and NPC Circulars (knowledge of GDPR is an advantage).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and training skills.
  • Ability to draft legal and policy documentation (manuals, notices, data sharing agreements).
