About the Role

We are hiring a
Mainframe DB2 System DBA (L3)
with
10+ years of hands-on experience
in IBM DB2 administration on z/OS. You will lead system-level DB2 activities, performance tuning, installations, upgrades, and cross-team engineering support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and guide DB2 database creation, configuration, upgrades, patches, and refreshes
  • Recommend tuning and configuration changes for OS and DB2 performance
  • Perform physical and logical DB2 design, query analysis, and optimization
  • Provide SME-level support to application teams
  • Manage DB2 storage, capacity, security, and access permissions
  • Handle Service Requests, Changes, Problems, and escalation management
  • Track SLA compliance, including vendor coordination
  • Review and maintain SOP documentation
  • Support in-flight and upcoming projects
  • Execute customer-approved DR, replication, and cloning procedures
  • Use DB2 utilities (Unload, Load, Reorg, Runstats, image copy, DSNJU003/004)
  • Perform PITR, HA, and backup/recovery operations

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 10+ years
    Mainframe DB2 Database Administration on
    z/OS
  • Experience with
    DB2 v12 or v13
    installation, upgrades, patching, and configuration
  • Strong performance tuning skills (DB2, VSAM)
  • Experience in
    Data Sharing
    within Parallel Sysplex
  • DB2 system knowledge: IRLM, LISTDEF, REORG, RECOVER, RUNSTATS, QUIESCE
  • Experience with DR, HA, PITR, backup/recovery, cloning
  • Proficiency with JCL, JES, REXX, CLIST, SMPE
  • Knowledge of ACF2/RACF, CICS 5.5, Mainframe MQ v9
  • Experience with ISV tools such as
    Omegamon
    and
    AdminTool

  • Assembler knowledge
