Job Summary / Position Objectives :

The Checker is responsible for the inspecting the loading and/ or Unloading/hustling of the right container vans and that these are directed to the proper destinations.

Key Result Areas / Duties & Responsibilities:

1. SOUTH BOUND CARGO

1.1 Receives PAYA from helper

1.2 Checks container for loading namely: a Condition and color of seal to destination b Container number with cargo load list c Over all condition of container (Checks for damage and/or holes)

1.3 Signs Paya form and keeps one copy for the files

1.4 Instructs Heavy equipment Operator to transfer containers to designated areas inside the Yard.

1.5 Instructs Heavy equipment Operator to lift/move/transfer containers for intended vessel.

1.6 Secure Cargo Load list from recebase to use for loading of cargo

2. NORTH BOUND CARGO

2.1 Requests Cargo Manifest from Recebase indicating quantity of empty containers, request for transfer/hustling and containers for "van out"

2.2 Receives and signs PAYA from Helper of OCLI Trucker

2.3 Complies with the given hustling order/plan.

2.4 Accomplishes Container Inspection Form

2.5 Checks container number & condition, seal number & condition prior to PAYA execution

2.6 Instructs Heavy Equipment Operator to lift/move/transfer corresponding containers for hustling and van-out into the trailer trucks based on issued PAYA

2.7 Writes inventory of empty of loaded containers left in the Port Terminal on a daily basis and submits to superiors

2.8 Takes pictures and other evidences of the damaged vans and writes Incident and Damage Reports, and submits to superiors for notation and signature

2.9 Wears appropriate PPE before start of duty

3. RECORDS AND REPORTS

3.1 Writes discrepancy Reports on Shut-Out cargo indicating the container copy to Recebase.

3.2 Reports incidents and accidents to supervisor and other concerned parties, and accomplishes required reports

3.3 Prepares Lashing Report, containing the quantity and type of lashing materials used and forwards a copy to the Recebase

3.4 Checks, counts and matches the lasing materials coming from the returned/used containers and compares with the Lashing Report. Reports any discrepancies.

4. VEHICLE LOADING

1.1 Requests van reservation with Booking Officer.

1.2 Presents van reservation number to the Recebase for issuance of empty van

1.3 Receives empty van from North-bound Checker

1.4 Inspects cars/vehicles to be loaded into the container van and validates actual condition vis-à-vis what is indicated on the checklist, and confirms if all tools indicated on the proforma are complete.

1.5 Signs the Proforma from customer and receives vehicle keys 1.6 Seals vehicle keys to indicate destination

1.7 Prepares gatepass with the complete details of the cargo and forwards a copy to the Recebase

1.8 Drives the vehicles into the container van

1.9 Determines type of lashing for vehicles and checks/secures lashing

1.10 Accomplishes the Entry Pass with the complete details of the cargo and forwards a copy to the Recebase

1.11 Can be assigned in any other task.

Job Qualification:

I. EDUCATION:

● Graduate of any 4 year Business Course

II. EXPERIENCE

● With at least one (1) year of relevant experience, preferably in a similar industry or operations

III. SKILLS / COMPETENCIES / QUALIFICATIONS

● Must have very good administrative skills

● Must be organized and systematic

● Must be very good at records management

● Must be able to communicate in an understandable manner

● Must be able to deal with all types of people

● Must have a good working knowledge of applicable softwares

Location: South National Highway Brgy Tiniguiban Puerto Princesa City

Schedule: Monday to Saturday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
