JOB SUMMARY:

The Payroll and Benefits Officer is responsible for delivering accurate, compliant, and technology-driven payroll and benefits operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring that employee compensation is processed efficiently while leveraging digital tools and automation to streamline workflows. The ideal candidate thrives in a fintech environment—agile, data-driven, and continuously improving processes to enhance the employee experience and operational efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Payroll Administration

  • Process end-to-end payroll for all employee types (regular, probationary, project-based, and consultants) through
  • digital payroll platforms or integrated HRIS solutions.
  • Validate attendance, overtime, and variable pay components in coordination with Finance and HR Operations, ensuring accuracy and system alignment.
  • Reconcile payroll data, generate audit trails, and produce dashboards or analytics reports for management insights.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR) and manage e-filing and e-payment transactions.

  • HRIS, accounting, and disbursement systems.

Benefits Administration

  • Administer both statutory and company-provided benefits (HMO, insurance, leave credits) through digital platforms and vendor portals.
  • Collaborate with providers to ensure API-enabled enrollment, claims, and data syncing, minimizing manual intervention.
  • Track utilization and provide insights to improve the employee benefits experience and vendor performance.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Maintain confidential and accurate employee records within cloud-based HR systems.
  • Support internal/external audits and ensure data integrity across HR and Finance systems.
  • Keep updated with evolving labor and tax regulations and translate changes into actionable system updates or process improvements.

Employee Support

  • Provide responsive, tech-enabled assistance to employees on payroll and benefits concerns.
  • Create knowledge articles or FAQs to build employee self-service capability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration, preferably in fintech, banking, or technology sectors.
  • Solid knowledge of Philippine labor laws, taxation, and statutory benefits.
  • Proficiency in digital HR systems, payroll software, and automated reporting tools (e.g., DarwinBox, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and data management skills; able to work with large datasets.
  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and ability to manage deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
