About the Role
Are you a visionary content leader with a passion for event marketing, sales strategies, and the ever-evolving digital landscape?
We're launching an exciting new digital magazine and newsletter focused on delivering cutting-edge insights, news, and actionable tactics in event marketing, general marketing, and sales. We're seeking an exceptional and autonomous Content Lead to be the sole architect and executor of this project, shaping its voice, content, and growth from the ground up.
This isn't just an editing role—it's an opportunity to build a premier publication from scratch. You'll oversee every aspect, from content strategy and creation to distribution and performance analysis. Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Creation
- Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy for both the digital magazine and newsletter, ensuring a consistent and compelling editorial voice.
- Generate original, high-quality, and newsworthy content covering event marketing trends, general marketing strategies, sales tactics, and industry innovations.
- Conduct in-depth research, interviews, and analysis to produce insightful articles, features, case studies, and practical guides.
- Ensure all content is highly engaging, informative, and relevant to our target audience of marketing and sales professionals.
Editorial Leadership
- Act as the ultimate arbiter of content quality, accuracy, and adherence to editorial guidelines.
- Oversee all stages of the editorial workflow, including topic ideation, outlining, writing, editing, and proofreading.
- Maintain a strict editorial calendar to ensure timely publication of both the newsletter and magazine.
Digital Publishing & Distribution
- Manage the entire production process for the digital magazine and newsletter, including content layout and design.
- Implement and optimize email deliverability best practices to ensure high inbox placement rates and engagement.
- Leverage HubSpot for CRM, email marketing, and content management, maximizing its full capabilities.
- Craft compelling calls to action (CTAs) to drive subscriptions, engagement, and desired reader behaviors.
- Apply keyword strategies to optimize content for search engine visibility and audience reach.
Quality Assurance & Innovation
- Use AI checkers and other tools to ensure content originality and adherence to ethical standards.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to keep content fresh, relevant, and ahead of the curve.
- Analyze performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates, engagement) to refine content strategy and optimize future publications.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an editor, content strategist, or in a similar role within a digital publication or high-growth content platform.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a sharp eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong understanding of event marketing, general marketing principles, and sales methodologies.
- Demonstrable expertise in email marketing and deliverability best practices.
- Proficiency with the HubSpot platform (email, CMS, and CRM).
- Solid grasp of digital design principles for online publications.
- Familiarity with AI content-checking tools and a commitment to producing original content.
- Expertise in CTAs and keyword optimization for digital content.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing all aspects of a publication independently.
- Ability to work autonomously, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to evolving priorities.
