Position Summary

The
Senior DevOps Engineer
is responsible for leading the design, deployment, and maintenance of highly available, secure, and scalable gaming infrastructure. This role ensures smooth game releases, optimal server performance, and continuous improvement of operational processes. The Senior DevOps Engineer also
mentors junior DevOps staff
and guides technical decisions affecting the platform and live operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure & Cloud Leadership
  • Design, implement, and optimize cloud and on-premises infrastructure for game servers and backend services.
  • Lead efforts to maintain
    high availability, low latency, and global accessibility
    of gaming platforms.
  • Plan and execute infrastructure scaling for peak traffic events, tournaments, or live updates.

CI/CD & Release Management

  • Lead the creation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for game builds, backend services, and updates.
  • Oversee deployments, hotfixes, and live patching with minimal downtime.
  • Ensure proper coordination between development, QA, and operations teams.

Mentoring & Team Guidance

  • Mentor junior and mid-level DevOps engineers, providing guidance on best practices, troubleshooting, and technical growth.
  • Define and enforce standards for infrastructure management, automation, and security.
  • Provide technical leadership during critical incidents or infrastructure changes.

Monitoring, Incident Response & Optimization

  • Implement and maintain real-time monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
  • Lead incident response during outages or system failures, performing root cause analysis.
  • Optimize system performance, automate repetitive tasks, and improve operational efficiency.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement security best practices, access control policies, and DDoS mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with company security policies and relevant regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5–8+ years
    of experience in DevOps, Cloud, or Site Reliability Engineering.
  • Proven experience with
    cloud platforms
    (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Linux systems.
  • Hands-on expertise with
    containers and orchestration
    (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools and scripting (Python, Bash, or similar).
  • Experience with
    high-traffic, low-latency gaming environments
    .

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with online multiplayer games, live-service games, or esports platforms.
  • Familiarity with
    game server architectures
    , matchmaking, or real-time systems.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog).
  • Strong background in
    incident management and disaster recovery
    .
