Merchandising Assistant

The Merchandising Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the merchandising department by ensuring the accurate pricing of products, conducting competitor price checks, and maintaining organized and up-to-date records. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can efficiently manage administrative tasks, while also collaborating closely with both internal teams (such as sales, buying, and marketing) and external partners (like suppliers and vendors) to help achieve business objectives. The Merchandising Assistant will be responsible for gathering data, analyzing trends, and contributing to key decisions related to product pricing and merchandising strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Pricing Accuracy: Ensure that all product prices are accurately inputted into the system and updated regularly. Work with the buying and sales teams to review price adjustments based on market conditions, promotions, or markdown strategies.
• Competitor Price Monitoring: Conduct regular checks of competitor pricing to help ensure the company remains competitive in the market. This includes collecting data on pricing trends, promotional activities, and market positioning. Provide detailed reports to the merchandising team to inform pricing and promotional decisions.
• Record Management: Maintain organized records of product pricing, promotions, and inventory levels. This includes using internal databases and spreadsheets to track changes and ensure that all product-related information is up-to-date and easily accessible for team members.
• Administrative Support: Assist in a variety of administrative tasks, including but not limited to preparing price lists, filing documents, and supporting the merchandising team with data entry and reporting. Ensure that all documentation is accurate and filed in accordance with company policies.
• Collaboration Across Teams: Work closely with the buying, sales, and marketing teams to ensure alignment on pricing strategies and promotional schedules. Provide them with the necessary information and insights for effective decision-making.
• Vendor and Supplier Communication: Liaise with external partners, including suppliers and vendors, to coordinate product deliveries, verify pricing details, and resolve any issues related to product availability or pricing.
• Reporting and Data Analysis: Prepare regular reports on product pricing, competitor activities, and market trends. Assist the merchandising team with data analysis to identify opportunities for cost optimization and increased profitability.
• Support Merchandising Strategy: Assist with the implementation of merchandising strategies that enhance product visibility, drive sales, and improve the overall customer experience.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure accurate data entry, maintain organized records, and spot discrepancies in pricing or product data.
• Analytical Skills: Comfortable with analyzing competitor pricing and market trends to provide actionable insights to the merchandising team.
• Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, external vendors, and suppliers.
• Time Management: Efficiently manage multiple administrative tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.), and familiarity with internal merchandising and pricing systems.
• Team Player: Comfortable working in a collaborative environment and supporting different teams to meet shared business goals.

Pay: Php15, Php18,000.00 per month
