The
Associate
is responsible for performing a range of operational tasks such as bookkeeping, accounting, reporting and compliance tasks e.g. business activity statements, payroll tax, Workcover, etc. for the Australia-based accounting firm client.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate directly with clients and sub-clients via email and phone
  • Handle AU bookkeeping, payroll, and end-to-end accounting and reporting for clients using Xero
  • Perform clean up and accounts reconciliation of books
  • Prepare activity statements, payroll tax lodgment, Workcover registration and declaration
  • Perform sales invoicing, client AR follow-up and batch payment
  • Perform necessary adjustments for tax return preparation
  • Handle ad hoc tasks as required

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in accountancy or equivalent (required)
  • Preferably a CPA
  • At least 2 years of experience in Australian Bookkeeping/Compliance using Xero accounting software
  • Ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a highly automated environment, meeting strict monthly reporting deadlines
