Job Description:

As a Credit Analyst, you will review bank statements, assess financial health, detect risk patterns, and structure fundable offers through full scrub-to-underwriting analysis. You will validate cash flow, identify red flags, run deal models, and support investment decisions with accuracy, speed, and sound judgment.

Shift: Night shift, Monday to Friday (9:00 AM-6:00 PM EST / 10:00 PM-7:00 AM Manila), Weekends Off

The Qualifications We Seek:

Must-Have:

• Ideally with 2 to 3 years of experience in the same role
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis
• Strong Excel skills (filters, formulas, pivoting preferred)
• Deep understanding of MCA cash flows, risk patterns, and underwriting standards
• Ability to detect anomalies, fraud patterns, and inconsistencies
• Structured communication and clear financial summarization
• Strong judgment aligned with funder risk appetite
• Comfort in fast-paced, high-volume work environments

Ideal Background:

• 2-4 years in credit analysis, underwriting, or financial services
• MCA/alternative lending experience strongly preferred
• Banking or fintech experience
• Experience in risk assessment and fraud detection
• Familiarity with small business financials and cash flow analysis

Your Daily Tasks:

Bank Statement Scrubbing & Data Extraction

• Review several months of business bank statements, including MTD when required
• Identify and extract core metrics:
• Monthly revenue
• Average Daily Balance (ADB)
• Number and size of deposits
• NSFs, Negative Days, overdraft frequency
• Large or irregular debits/credits
• Seasonality and cash flow patterns
• Profitability
• Flag high-risk indicators (ACH returns, overdrafts, inconsistent sales)
• Verify statement completeness, legibility, correct time periods, and account ownership
• Check for document tampering or mismatched information
• Check for duplicate statements

Data Entry, File Preparation & Compliance Checks

• Enter extracted data into internal scrub sheets and Excel model
• Rename and organize files following internal or funder naming conventions
• Confirm business registration, EIN consistency, and other KYC elements
• Screen merchants against blacklist databases (internal risk DB, DataMerch, etc.)
• Prepare scrub summaries for underwriting review

Underwriting & Risk Assessment

• Conduct full risk evaluation: NSFs, ADB trends, deposits, seasonality, credit checks, business stability
• Use files and tools provided to validate risk factors
• Provide analysis based on financial strength and risk
• Identify duplicate submissions, stacking activity, or potential fraud
• Decline files that fail minimum risk thresholds

Deal Assessment

• Use proprietary Excel models to determine if the company should invest
• Ensure payment-to-revenue leverage remains within ratios (≤30-35% of monthly revenue)
• Account for seasonality, performance, and cash flow tolerance
• Provide analysis to the investment committee for underwriting decisions

Communication & Cross-Team Collaboration

• Work with team members to finalize investment decisions
• Provide clear summaries to the Investment Committee
• Notify IC of missing documents, inconsistencies, or needed resubmissions

Daily Tasks:

• Scrub and underwrite up to 15 merchant files per day
• Extract and input financial data into CRM and scrub models
• Prepare and document underwriting decisions and offers
• Flag high-risk behaviors and decline non-viable deals
• Collaborate with IC for follow-ups or clarifications
• Maintain organized, compliant document filing

Weekly Tasks:

• Audit 5-10 scrubbed/underwritten files
• Update calculators or scrub templates
• Attend underwriting syncs
• Produce weekly summary reports
• Recommend SOP improvements
