Job Purpose and RoleWe are seeking a Cloud Security Engineer with an information security background to serve as the primary administrator and security agent for our systems and telecommunications. Responsibilities include system upgrades, maintenance, installations, employee education, and acting as the first support contact within the business for technical needs. Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesMonitor user accounts for least privileges, including Linux, AWS IAM, VOIP, Email, and others.

Design, implement, and deploy technical security controls and leverage existing security services to address problems or enable new opportunities. Research and evaluate new security technologies for potential use. Enhance team capabilities through planning, training, and mentoring.

Evaluate network and security technologies for planning security systems. Assess security requirements via business strategy evaluation, vulnerability analyses, and risk assessments. Specify and implement intrusion detection methodologies and security measures.

Provide leadership and mentorship in security architecture and practices. Support compliance with standards, procedures, and guidelines. Develop risk mitigation strategies and vulnerability management policies.

Implement security automation solutions. Handle technical problems, collaborate with internal customers, and communicate project statuses. Perform server administration, monitor bugs, and respond to issues using existing tools.

Develop and test new security technologies. Conduct routine system audits and manage backups. QualificationsBachelor's degree in technology or computer science.5+ years in cloud infrastructure and information security.

Proficiency with Bash scripting. Ability to work under pressure with strong communication skills. Experience with vulnerability scanners and understanding vulnerability criticality ratings.

Knowledge of IAAS and PAAS on a global scale, with experience in AWS and Docker. Understanding of AWS shared responsibility model from a security perspective. Effective time management and prior technical support experience.

Strong knowledge of operating systems, equipment, and monitoring tools. Linux Cloud Engineer skills including Linux administration, AWS, Debian, Nagios/Icinga, DNS, HAProxy, Nginx, and optionally FreePBX.Additional DetailsLocation: RemoteHours: During US standard business hours (9am-5pm EST)This description outlines the general requirements; other duties may be assigned as necessary.
