Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Debt Recovery Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and resolving outstanding debts, contributing to the financial health and stability of our organization. As a Debt Recovery Associate, you will collaborate with clients, utilize negotiation strategies, and employ strong communication skills to facilitate successful debt recovery.

Responsibilities:

  • Contact debtors via phone, email, or letters to discuss overdue payments.
  • Negotiate and establish repayment plans or settlements.
  • Document all interactions and agreements accurately.
  • Adhere to debt collection legislative requirements and regulations.
  • Address debtor inquiries and concerns in a professional manner.
  • Prepare debt recovery reports.
  • Management of the debt recovery inbox, ensuing incoming communication is addressed.
  • Responding to inbound client debt recovery phone calls.
  • Collaborate with internal teams for coordinated efforts.
  • Maintain ethical conduct and positive debtor relationships.
  • Meet or exceed assigned debt recovery targets.
  • Ad hoc Tasks as assigned by Management.
  • Completing applications for VCAT.
  • Preparing and issuing Letter of Demands under the supervision of General Counsel.

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written English comprehension and communication abilities.
  • Competence in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and more.
  • Prior experience in debt recovery or a similar role is preferred.
  • Outstanding aptitude for customer service.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to work autonomously and in team.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining accurate and organized records.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • Capability to meet crucial deadlines.
  • Effective teamwork capabilities.
