YOUR IMPACT Medical Coder and Biller

  • Review clinical documentation to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes
  • Ensure coding aligns with US federal regulations, payer policies, and internal standards
  • Submit claims electronically and follow up on denials, rejections, and unpaid bills
  • Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to clarify documentation and coding discrepancies
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding changes, payer requirements, and billingregulations
  • Monitor A/R reports and assist in resolving billing issues to improve cash flow
  • Protect patient confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance in all coding and billing activities

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree in health information or related field preferred
  • Certification required: CPC, CCS, or equivalent (AAPC or AHIMA)
  • 2+ years of experience in medical coding and billing, preferably in a multi-specialty or outpatient setting
  • Proficiency in EHR/EMR systems and billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Kareo, AdvancedMD)
  • Strong understanding of insurance guidelines (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers)
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience with audits and appeals
  • Familiarity with risk adjustment and HCC coding
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
