Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Performs structural peer-review of consultant-designed and in-house designed projects.

2. Takes the lead in the accurate and timely evaluations of bid proposals.

3. Ensures good quality of Technical Bidding Documents in terms of compliance, value engineering, transparency and accuracy.

4. Represent the Company at technical meetings, design reviews, and discussions with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

5. Provide necessary technical support to Maynilad such as risk assessments, investigations, and engineering studies to the project delivery and project management teams to address project related concerns.

6. Assist in developing design concepts and scope development.

7. Provide technical review on structural analysis and design with his/her solid foundation in the fundamentals of structural engineering and knowledge on the design integration of civil/structural with other engineering discipline.

8. Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and quality control.

9. Prepare technical reports and reports to higher management or to both internal and external clients.

10. Develop operational procedures, method of statements and work instructions relevant to civil and structural design.

11. Participate in the development, review, and updating of the Maynilad Standards.

12. Provide structural engineering support to other units and other divisions of Maynilad.

13. Supervise and review the Seismic Management Program of all Maynilad existing structures.

14. Conducts structural investigation on site as required, and prepares investigation report with findings, comments, evaluation and recommendation.

15. Takes the lead in the review and checking of operational concerns through Technical Assessment Request (TAR).

16. Gathers data for presentation with regards to finished projects and obtain lessons learned and items for improvement.

17. Ensure the continuous knowledge, skill and work attitude development of the civil-structural design engineers.

18. Conduct and provide training plans for all civil-structural designers of engineering in the project delivery sections.

19. Perform other related engineering and management tasks as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCY

REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM EDUCATION

PRC Licensed Civil Engineer

With MS Degree in Structural Engineering

WORK EXPERIENCE

Must have at least seven (7) years of total working experience,

including five (5) years in a related industry in an equivalent position

and at least four (4) years of experience in supervision or management.

Preferably a member of the Association of Structural Engineers of the Philippines (ASEP) or a Structural Specialist of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

Adept to local and international structural codes such as NSCP, NBCP, ACI, AISC and ASCE

Knowledgeable to international codes for environmental concrete structures such as ACI 350 and ACI 350-3 codes

Knowledgeable in FEMA 154, ATC 40, FEMA 356 and other seismic evaluation and rehabilitation guidelines

Background in the design and analysis of water and wastewater treatment plants

Capable of performing static and dynamic analysis of building structures

Proficient in Finite Element Modelling, analysis and design of underground and above-ground tank structures

Proficient in structural design software such as STAAD, ETABS/SAP2000, SAFE, Midas Gen & Design+

Capable of using computer aided design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit and other BIM software.

Proficient with MS Office Programs

Excellent problem solving and time management skills

Effective communication skills both in oral and written form

Risk assessment and value engineering skills
