Role Overview
The Head of Social Media is responsible for directing our full-spectrum social media presence—from content strategy and team coordination to founder-focused personal brand content and performance analysis. This role oversees in-house content creators (photo/video), manages our Content Distribution Specialist, and works closely with the founder to build an authentic, viral, and high-converting brand narrative across all platforms.
This position is the creative command center for our brand's voice online—bridging aesthetics, trends, performance, and storytelling into cohesive execution across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, X, Facebook, and LinkedIn. The Head of Social Media is expected to lead both strategy and execution, ensuring our channels consistently grow in followers, engagement, and content quality.
Core Responsibilities
Social Strategy & Calendar Management
- Own the monthly and weekly social content calendar across all channels
- Develop high-level strategy for content cadence, tone, and campaign themes
- Maintain channel-specific content strategies while preserving consistent brand voice
- Lead ideation for viral hooks, trend-jacking angles, and storytelling formats
Content Team Leadership (Video, Photo, Editing)
- Direct and provide feedback to in-house photo and video editors
- Ensure all deliverables meet platform standards and brand aesthetics
- Collaborate with performance team to align creatives with campaign objectives
- Maintain a feedback loop with content team to improve engagement and retention
- Approve and/or provide feedback to content creators.
Founder Brand & Personal Content Execution
- Work directly with the founder to produce daily or weekly personal brand content
- Plan and assist in filming talking-head, lifestyle, and founder-day-in-the-life content
- Help capture behind-the-scenes, travel, and team Upgrade to see actual infonts that reinforce brand values
- Translate founder insights and voice into high-performing short-form formats
Cross-Platform Distribution & Posting Oversight
- Coordinate daily with the Content Distribution Specialist to ensure all content is posted correctly and on time across platforms
- Maintain platform-specific posting best practices (thumbnails, hashtags, captions, tags, timing)
- Approve final captions, descriptions, and title copy to align with brand tone
Performance Tracking & Optimization
- Monitor performance metrics (views, engagement, saves, shares, follows) across platforms
- Conduct weekly audits and analytics reporting, flagging wins and underperformers
- Develop and refine best practices based on content performance trends
- Ensure feedback from ads team is integrated into organic testing

- Cross-Platform Brand Building – Designs and executes strategies that scale across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X
- Content Team Leadership – Provides vision, structure, and feedback to in-house creatives and ensures final output is elite and on-brand
- Founder-Led Growth Strategy – Captures and amplifies the founder's voice to boost authenticity, virality, and connection
- Data-Driven Creative Direction – Uses insights from performance to double down on winning formats and hooks

- Content Planning: Notion, Google Drive, Slack
- Analytics: TikTok Creator Tools, Instagram Insights, YouTube Studio, Meta Business Suite, Google Sheets
- Content Editing & Collaboration: CapCut, Adobe Suite, Canva, Figma, Upgrade to see actual info
- Scheduling & Posting: Later, Metricool, Hootsuite, manual native uploads
- Creative Research: TikTok Trends, Instagram Reels tab, Facebook Ad Library, VidTao
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Content Volume & Consistency
- Minimum of 3 new posts per day across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts
- Weekly posting maintained across all key platforms with 95% consistency
- All scheduled content uploaded on time and without error
Engagement & Growth
- MoM follower growth targets hit across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube
- Weekly average engagement rate maintained above 4% on key platforms
- Top 5 posts per week flagged and analyzed with learnings applied to future briefs
Creative Execution & Team Management
- All in-house content (photo/video) delivered on-time and meets quality standards
- Weekly feedback loops completed with content editors and distribution specialist
- At least 1 new creative format tested per week based on trend research
Founder Content Output
- Minimum 2–3 pieces of founder-focused content produced weekly
- Maintain backlog of evergreen founder content for use during travel or downtime
- Founder post engagement consistently exceeds baseline content by 25%+
Strategic Leadership & Reporting
- Weekly Social Performance Report delivered every Monday by EOD
- All active platforms reviewed monthly for improvement opportunities
