Water System Engineer

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily operations of water facilities (wells, pumps, distribution).
  • Monitor water production, pressure, and flow for consistent delivery.
  • Implement preventive and corrective maintenance for mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Analyze performance data to detect inefficiencies, leaks, and pressure issues.
  • Ensure prompt repair of pipe leaks and compliance with DOH water quality standards.
  • Support NRW reduction efforts and recommend operational improvements.
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and agencies for project permits and requirements.
  • Enforce safety protocols and proper equipment use.
  • Maintain updated records on equipment, maintenance, and inventory.
  • Supervise Meter Consumption Analysts and support service application processing.
  • Respond to customer concerns and ensure service standards are met.
  • Prepare reports and assist in other tasks as needed by the PMD Head.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed engineer preferred; 2–5 years' experience in water systems.
  • Strong background in hydraulics, system design, and technical reporting.
  • Proficient in design/modeling tools (EPANET, WaterGEMS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
  • Knowledge of local/international water codes and standards.
  • Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills.
