Cloud and Data Center Wintel and Backup Administrator

We are seeking a Cloud and Data Center Wintel and Backup Administrator to join our Global IT Infrastructure team. This position is responsible for managing Windows-based server environments, cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS), and enterprise backup systems, ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our IT services across on-premises and cloud platforms.

Primary Responsibilities:1. Wintel Administration

  • Manage and maintain Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022), including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies.
  • Perform system patching, health checks, and firmware upgrades.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot server performance and availability.
  • Support virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere/ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V.

2. Cloud Infrastructure Support

  • Assist in managing resources in Microsoft Azure, AWS, and optionally GCP.
  • Monitor cloud workloads and support provisioning, scaling, and performance tuning.
  • Implement and manage cloud-based backup and disaster recovery.
  • Document cloud architecture and procedures to ensure standardization.

3. Backup Operations

  • Administer backup solutions including Veeam, Commvault, or Veritas NetBackup.
  • Monitor and manage backup schedules, retention policies, and restoration procedures.
  • Conduct regular restore testing to ensure data integrity and recoverability.
  • Investigate and resolve backup failures or job alerts.

4. Maintenance & Monitoring

  • Use enterprise tools (e.g., SolarWinds, SCOM, Nagios) to monitor system health and performance.
  • Respond to IT incidents, service requests, and change requests in a timely manner.
  • Maintain updated asset inventory and configuration documentation.

5. Security & Compliance

  • Apply OS and firmware security patches and adhere to system hardening guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support security audits, including access reviews and backup validation.
  • Integrate with vulnerability scanning and endpoint protection systems.

  • Operating Systems: Windows Server 2016–2022, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO
  • Virtualization: VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Cloud Platforms: Azure (IaaS, PaaS, Azure AD, Azure Backup), AWS (EC2, S3, IAM), Hybrid Cloud Connectivity
  • Backup Tools: Veeam, Commvault, Veritas NetBackup
  • Storage: SAN/NAS (NetApp, Dell EMC, HPE), iSCSI, NFS, SMB
  • Monitoring Tools: SolarWinds, SCOM, Nagios
  • ITSM Tools: ServiceNow, BMC Remedy
  • Security Tools: Antivirus, Endpoint Protection, Qualys, Tenable, SIEM (Splunk, Sentinel)
  • Automation & Scripting: PowerShell (basic to intermediate), Ansible, Terraform (preferred)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure; 5+ years specifically in Wintel and workstation automation.
  • High level of accountability and ownership in managing complex environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); Fluent English required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within IT and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation and responsiveness.
  • Continuous learner with adaptability to evolving technologies and best practices.
  • Capable of understanding business needs and translating them into technical solutions.
