Job Summary

Our organization is seeking a strategic and analytical professional to oversee our tax compliance function. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to manage staff and review complex tax returns.

The successful Tax Manager will collaborate closely with partners to ensure accurate tax return preparation, while providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.

  • Manage a team of tax professionals and review tax returns prepared by the team.
  • Prepare and review complex individual and business returns (1120, 1120s, 1065, not for profit, 1041s).
  • Assist staff with diagnosing issues in tax preparation software.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior team members.
  • Communicate directly with clients to obtain missing information and provide updates.
  • Respond to notices received from tax authorities.

This role requires a high level of organization, adaptability, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

About You
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • Deep knowledge of US Federal and state tax laws and regulations.
  • Experience with forms 1120, 1120s, 1065, 1040, 1041, and not for profit return preparation and review.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products.
  • Experience preparing returns in ProSeries is preferred.
  • Ability to manage a team and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
