Job Opportunity

The Senior Accountant role entails supporting the business and overseeing various tasks:

  • Financial statement preparation up to trial balance stage for lodgement with the relevant taxation authority.
  • Preparation of Business Activity Statements and Installment Activity Statements for timely lodgement.
  • Maintenance of the general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a balanced trial; reconciling entries.
  • Accurate completion of tax returns, trust, partnership tax returns, and year-end compliance tasks.
  • Experienced in Division 7a loan management.
  • Timely submission of required tax reports.
  • Preparation and updating of tax provision schedules.
  • Identification and rectification of process errors causing incorrect tax filings and negotiations with tax authorities over payment issues.
  • Mentorship and review of work for junior accountants.
  • Leadership of future accountant team members, including mentoring/reviewing their work and reporting progress to senior managers.

Key responsibilities include financial planning, budgeting, and financial analysis, ensuring accurate and timely submission of tax reports. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, be proficient in accounting software, and have strong leadership abilities to guide and develop the accounting team.
