**Job Title:** Software Engineer

About the Job

We are seeking a skilled software engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and implementing features across our Mir stack.

You will assist in debugging, tracking down and fixing issues, participate in code and architectural review, create and improve tests and performance benchmarks, maintain documentation, engage with the open source community and commercial partners, and collaborate proactively with a distributed team.

Key Responsibilities:

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have:

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent modern C++ and excellent Rust programming skills
  • Familiarity with Linux as a development and deployment platform
  • Ability to collaborate remotely with a diverse set of team members and remain highly motivated, productive, and organized

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with the Wayland protocol ecosystem and compositors
  • Familiarity with OpenGL, Vulkan, Flutter and other graphics toolkits and animation frameworks
  • Solid understanding of asynchronous programming and concurrency patterns
  • Proven ability to consistently deliver robust code to production
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to document and present software developed
