Linux Kernel Developer Position

We are looking for a talented Linux kernel developer to join our team. As a kernel developer, you will be responsible for collaborating with our global team to develop and maintain the Ubuntu Linux kernel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with our distributed team to develop and maintain the Ubuntu Linux kernel.
  • Collaborate with external silicon, cloud, or hardware manufacturer delivery teams on cutting-edge platforms.
  • Analyze and resolve issues in the kernel reported by customers, the community, and discovered through rigorous testing.
  • Take ownership of delivering a variant of the Ubuntu Linux kernel.
  • Enhance tooling and automation for delivery and testing of Ubuntu Linux kernels.
  • Submit, review, and apply kernel patches, working with internal and external upstream maintainers.
Requirements:
  • Significant programming experience in C, with Python, Golang, or other similar languages highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with operating system kernel internals and concepts, Linux preferred but not essential.
  • Strong background in git.
  • Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred).
  • Excellent written and spoken English with strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel twice a year for company events up to two weeks each.
