Senior Front-End Developer

We are seeking a seasoned expert to join our front-end team, focusing on delivering high-quality projects across WordPress, Shopify, and React-based builds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely project delivery, meeting deadlines with reliability and precision.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a cohesive team, demonstrating dependability and proactivity.
  • Develop custom WordPress themes using ACF and modular CSS/JS, adhering to best practices.
  • Build and extend custom Shopify themes, implementing advanced features as needed.
  • Deliver React-based front-end builds, leveraging Gatsby for static and hybrid websites.
  • Translate designs and requirements into maintainable, high-performance code.
  • Implement advanced site optimisation techniques, including Core Web Vitals, caching, lazy loading, image optimisation, and more.
  • Guarantee accessibility, responsive behaviour, and SEO best practices in all projects.
  • Maintain proficiency in Git workflows, utilizing branch/pull request/merge strategies.
  • Utilise modern toolchains (Webpack, Vite, Babel, npm/yarn) to enhance development efficiency and code quality.
  • Integrate and consume third-party APIs, ensuring seamless data exchange.
  • Configure and implement advanced analytics and tracking solutions, including Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
  • Troubleshoot issues across front-end, WordPress, Shopify, React, and server environments.
  • Implement animations and micro-interactions, prioritising performance and user experience.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest front-end and CMS development trends and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Expert-level knowledge of HTML, CSS (Flexbox, Grid), and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Strong ability to hand-code solutions, minimising reliance on plugins.
  • Advanced experience in custom WordPress theme development and Shopify builds.
  • Solid expertise in React, including building complex projects in Gatsby or similar.
  • Deep understanding of ACF and WordPress customisation best practices.
  • Proficiency in CSS pre-processors like SCSS and building maintainable design systems.
  • Experience with JavaScript tooling (Webpack, Vite, Babel, npm/yarn).
  • Familiarity with Git workflows in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in integrating APIs and handling asynchronous data.
  • Skilled in optimising websites for speed, accessibility, and SEO.
  • Comfortable troubleshooting server-related issues (LAMP/LEMP environments, hosting setups).
  • Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
