Educational Facilitator

Description:

The Educational Facilitator provides instructional support and guidance to students in a synchronous and asynchronous setting. This role involves monitoring student progress, maintaining records, and working with academic advisors to ensure accommodations are met.

Responsibilities:
  • Orient students to their course material, communicate requirements, and monitor progress and pacing.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of assigned courses and understand diverse student backgrounds and needs.
  • Facilitate live class sessions in virtual and blended environments, helping teachers facilitate sessions as needed.
  • Establish clear objectives for learning activities, create lesson plans, and align instruction to state standards.
  • Participate in initiatives related to student achievement and state testing, serving as a tutor for regularly scheduled sessions.
  • Hold office hours for individual tutoring, monitoring student progress and evaluating data to determine course pacing and interventions.
  • Communicate student progress to academic advisors, students, and families, administering benchmark assessments and providing feedback on course work.
  • Implement student IEPs, GIEPs, and 504 Plans, attending meetings and maintaining understanding of technologies used within the school.
  • Submit progress updates to students, parents, and academic advisors as assigned, functioning as primary point of contact for students.
  • Show an active interest in student success by building positive relationships with students and families.
Requirements:
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of educational concepts and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse student populations.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and provide timely feedback.
  • Familiarity with educational technologies and systems.
