About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing MySQL databases while supporting MS SQL Server operations.

As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and collaborate with our technical colleagues to resolve database-related challenges efficiently.

Job Description
  • Administer and maintain MySQL databases, focusing on performance tuning, optimization, and maintenance.
  • Support MS SQL Server administration, including regular maintenance, backup management, and performance monitoring.
  • Set up proactive monitoring and alerts using Zabbix (or other monitoring tools) to ensure database health.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize slow-running or problematic database queries.
  • Resolve transaction-related issues such as deadlocks, hung transactions, and locking problems.
  • Design, implement, and test robust backup and disaster recovery strategies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of hands-on MySQL administration experience.
  • MS SQL Server administration background.
  • Strong knowledge of storage engines (InnoDB vs MyISAM).
  • Proven expertise in query optimization and troubleshooting performance issues.
  • Experience with deadlock resolution and transaction management.
  • Backup/restore strategy implementation experience.
  • Familiarity with Zabbix monitoring or similar tools.
