Ancillary Service Technician

Job Summary:

The Ancillary Service Technician plays a vital role in providing assistance to healthcare teams in performing procedures and patient care activities. This role requires adherence to regulations, standards, and policies of the department or hospital under the direct supervision of the Department Manager or Head Nurse.

The successful candidate will assist in preparing procedure rooms and equipment for examinations or procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort by explaining the details of the exam or procedure. Additionally, they will maintain inventory of the unit by organizing, preparing, and requesting materials for use.

Responsibilities:
  1. Inspect consent forms and related documents to ensure completeness.
  2. Prepare procedure rooms prior to every examination or procedure.
  3. Explain examination details to patients and prepare them accordingly.
  4. Protect patient sensitivities and right to privacy.
  5. Evaluate issues and escalate problems to appropriate channels.
  6. Maintain cleanliness of the unit.
  7. Dispose of used linens properly.
  8. Use personal protective equipment correctly.
  9. Clean and maintain equipment after each use.
  10. Assist in maintaining inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
Qualifications:
  1. Graduate of a 2-year college course in a medical-related field.
  2. At least one year of relevant work experience.
  3. Possess excellent patient care knowledge and ability.
  4. Possess current Heart Savers certification.
  5. Excellent customer/patient relation skills.
  6. Good communication skills, including proficiency in Visayan dialect and/or Tagalog, with English an advantage.
