Our school is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for instructing and monitoring student progress in both synchronous and asynchronous instructional settings.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student.

  • Develop and teach engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and assessment anchors.

  • Provide guidance and support to students, parents, and Academic Advisors to ensure a smooth learning experience.

  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and making data-driven decisions to inform instruction.

  • Communicate regularly with Academic Advisors, students, and families to keep them informed about student progress and provide feedback on course work.

  • Administer periodic benchmark and diagnostic assessments, interpreting results and using them to inform instruction.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum that meets the diverse needs of students.

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education and technology integration.

Requirements:

  • Valid Pennsylvania State Teaching Certificate in Special Education

  • Experience working with students with special needs, preferably in an online or virtual setting

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
