Senior Architect Role

A seasoned Senior Architect will provide remote technical leadership and guide staff Architects, Architectural Associates, and outside consultants on projects ranging from 5,000 to 200,000 sq. ft., including renovations, interior work, and ground-up construction.

The Technical Leadership Role
  • Supervise project teams of 2–7 members and collaborate with the Project Architect on technical documentation, ensuring consistent design standards across all projects.
Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Market research and client relationships management.
  • Proposal writing and project proposal preparation, focusing on client needs and expectations.
  • Space needs development and zoning code reviews, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Preparing for field verification and Revit drawings production, utilizing strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Design concept establishment, 3D models creation, space planning, and consultant coordination, promoting innovative design solutions.
  • Contract document preparation, quality control, and technical details supervision, maintaining high-quality deliverables.
  • Bid package preparation and contractor RFI response, facilitating effective communication between stakeholders.
  • Contract requirements communication, submittals review, and change orders coordination, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Team assignment support, budget maintenance, invoicing, and client and staff communication, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Requirements for Success
  • Professional degree in Architecture, such as a Master's or Bachelor's degree.
  • Architectural Licensure (U.S. preferred; international considered with strong experience), demonstrating expertise and professionalism.
  • 10+ years of relevant architectural experience, showcasing a strong track record of success.
  • Proven leadership in technical design and documentation, driving consistency and quality across projects.
  • Proficiency in Revit; additional skills in SketchUp, Photoshop, and related software a plus, enhancing creative capabilities.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and mentoring skills, inspiring team members and delivering results.
  • Knowledge of building codes (Chicago Building Code and IBC experience highly valued), staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
