Job Opportunity

We're seeking a skilled Proofreader to join our team and contribute to the publication of romance novels that celebrate true love. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality in every manuscript, from grammar and spelling to the unique rhythms and emotional nuances of romance.

This is a remote contract role with competitive pay rates per book. We're looking for someone who can maintain consistency, polish, and emotional continuity across every page, making sure each story delivers with clarity and heart.

The Role
  • Proofread manuscripts for errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Maintain consistency in voice, formatting, and dialogue flow.
  • Double-check continuity across POVs, timelines, and character details.
  • Flag potential errors or inconsistencies for review.
  • Provide actionable feedback through tracked changes, editorial notes, and occasional calls.
  • Juggle multiple projects while meeting production deadlines.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 2+ years of professional proofreading/copyediting experience in contemporary romance.
  • 2+ published romance novels proofread (please provide links or ISBNs).
  • Advanced command of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting.
  • Eye for detail and deep respect for the genre's pacing and emotional beats.
  • Organized, reliable, and able to balance multiple manuscripts at once.
