We are seeking a highly skilled Security Expert to join our team in ensuring the security of our web applications.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for applying system security engineering principles to deliver real solutions that enhance the security position. This includes identifying threats and developing suitable defense measures, evaluating system changes for security implications, and recommending enhancements. Additionally, they will provide first-class support to the cyber security operations Team for resolving difficult cyber security issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead security incident response efforts for all SM websites
  • Configure Windows and Linux host-based security as well as network and cloud-based security systems
  • Support with the installation and configuration of network security architectures, including firewalls, router ACLs (Access Control Lists), web content filters and Demilitarized Zones (DMZ)
  • Observe and respond to Intrusion Detection System (IDS) cues and anti-virus alerts
  • Work with the Web Governance Specialist
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of system security engineering principles and experience in applying them to deliver real solutions. You should also have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Requirements:

  • Ability to review system changes for security implications and recommend improvements
  • Understanding of cyber security methodologies
  • Proficient in PHP, C#, .Net, Node.JS, Python, bash and power shell
  • Knowledge of technology capabilities and trends; types, and techniques of hacking attacks in the wild
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology or related fields
  • Attended programming related classes or courses
  • Has a working knowledge of projects and development
  • Has at least 2-3 years of experience in identifying threats and developing appropriate protection measures
  • Has at least 2 years of experience in building and managing websites
  • Has at least 1 year of experience in project management
