Medical Billing Specialist Job Summary

The Medical Billing Specialist plays a vital role in our healthcare team by monitoring the status of medical claims, investigating rejections and denials, and documenting related account activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient eligibility and benefits to ensure accurate coverage.
  • Review and submit claims in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Obtain prior authorizations to support smooth claim approvals.
  • Monitor claim status and conduct follow-up to ensure prompt payment.
  • Research and resolve claim rejections and denials.
  • Generate patient statements with no patient interaction required.
  • Document all account activities accurately and efficiently.
  • Manage collections from various payers in a professional manner.
  • Apply Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance eligibility requirements and payment methodologies effectively.
  • Record contractual adjustments based on payer contracts and government regulations.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in end-to-end revenue cycle processes.
  • Experience in DME and Apero is preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and healthcare providers to achieve common goals.
  • Excellent customer service skills are crucial for this role.
