The Senior Technical Support Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction and resolving technical issues efficiently. This position requires experienced professionals with exceptional communication skills backed by strong technical knowledge.

• Provide top-tier support to a diverse range of WordPress users worldwide through ticket and live chat-based help desk systems.
• Offer guidance on using specific products by answering questions and providing accurate information and clear instructions.
• Diagnose problems customers encounter on their sites and offer effective solutions.
• Troubleshoot and investigate issues to identify the root cause of the problem.
• Create detailed bug reports for developers to facilitate swift issue resolution.
• Share expertise and assist team members in improving their knowledge and skills.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge on essential changes within the WordPress ecosystem, focusing on continuous learning and development.

• More than 5 years of hands-on experience with WordPress, including in-depth knowledge of the WordPress ecosystem.
• Proficiency in creating well-structured HTML documents and implementing CSS from basic to complex techniques for styling.
• Able to handle tasks like creating responsive layouts using media queries, styling elements, and implementing custom CSS solutions.
• Familiarity with JavaScript and ability to understand basic scripts.
• Capable of implementing simple jQuery scripts for basic interactivity on websites.
• Able to recognize JavaScript console errors and utilize them for troubleshooting purposes.
• Familiarity with basic PHP syntax and understanding of how PHP code operates within WordPress.
• Ability to make simple modifications to existing PHP code snippets.
• Experience with custom hooks and filters to add or modify functionality in WordPress.
• Proficient in diagnosing and resolving WordPress issues using WP Debug, browser console errors, and other debugging tools.
• Experience with WordPress page builder plugins, theme builders, the block editor, common caching & performance optimization plugins, and SEO plugins.
• Skillful in optimizing WordPress websites according to Google Core Web Vitals and Page Speed Insights.
• Experienced in building and managing WooCommerce websites, including customizing WooCommerce templates.
• Able to set up WordPress local environments, staging sites, and site migration.
• Familiarity with WordPress security best practices, protocols, and permissions.
• Ability to create custom WordPress plugins and themes from scratch (nice to have).

• Familiarity with common web hosting stacks, such as cPanel, NGINX, Apache, MySQL, etc.
• Proficiency in cPanel (or similar) and FTP client tools like Filezilla for managing website files.
• Proficiency in using Cloudflare and advanced DNS knowledge.
• Knowledge of CDNs and various types of caching.
• Proficiency in command-line operations (SSH), including WP-CLI (nice to have).
• Previous exposure to live chat or help desk tools like Help Scout, Freshdesk, or Zendesk (nice to have).

• Experience with technical/customer support or regular interaction with clients on technical matters.
