Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with experience in supporting Australian businesses? We are seeking a Financial Controller to lead our financial accounting function, providing critical financial insights that drive our business forward.

About the Role

This is a unique and strategic opportunity to join our corporate team and shape our finance department. As a Financial Controller, you will take ownership of our entire financial accounting function, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, journal entries, and reconciliations.

  • Lead the financial accounting function: Take full ownership of our end-to-end general ledger processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Oversee key financial activities: Lead monthly project costing, departmental reporting, and manage all R&D tax rebate submissions.
  • Enhance our financial systems: Drive continuous improvement of our financial policies and procedures, ensuring our systems are efficient, accurate, and scalable.
  • Manage external relationships: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and consultants, ensuring all financial reporting is accurate and timely.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Bachelor degree in commerce and/or accounting and CPA qualification (or equivalent).
  • Existing Financial Controller or Finance Manager with 10+ years experience supporting an Australian based business (preferably with operations internationally).
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian payroll and GST legislation.
  • Proven experience managing offshore teams and building relationships with stakeholders across a business, along with the management of external auditors and tax consultants.
  • Experience/comfortable working in a fast moving start-up / scale-up environment.
