Key Responsibilities:

  • We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Inpatient Coding Trainer to support the development and delivery of comprehensive training programs related to medical coding and billing. This role is responsible for designing instructional materials, conducting assessments, and providing onboarding and refresher training sessions to support coder readiness, compliance, and performance.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing and updating training modules and curriculum for coding and billing topics including ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, E/M coding, Edit Resolution, and RCM.
  • Maintaining and enhancing learning materials for the Med-Metrix Learning Academy, ensuring alignment with current industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Designing and producing coding exercises, assessments, and qualifying exams specific to inpatient coding.
  • Delivering structured onboarding programs for new coders and refresher trainings for tenured staff.
  • Providing continuing education and ensuring coders maintain required certifications through CEUs.
  • Monitoring and consolidating assessment and quiz results; analyzing data and reporting performance metrics to leadership on a weekly basis.
  • Disseminating periodic updates on coding guidelines, payer rules, and internal policy changes.
  • Collaborating across departments to address training-related gaps impacting internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participating in and helping facilitate monthly calibration sessions; creating learning assessments and analyzing post-session performance results.
  • Supporting the QA team in training needs assessments (TNA), root cause analysis (RCA), and educational note creation.
  • Assisting in account launches by coordinating training efforts with QA leadership.

What Our Client Is Looking For:

  • A Graduate of Any Medical or Allied Medical Course or Equivalent Work Experience in Medical Coding and Training.
  • At Least 2 Years of Medical Coding Experience, and 1 Year Trainer Experience
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC - AAPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS - AHIMA) Required.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS, and Revenue Cycle Management.
  • Proficient in Developing Training Materials, Conducting Assessments, and Analyzing Coder Performance Data.
  • Demonstrated Ability to Adapt to Shifting Schedules, New Procedures, and Evolving Training Requirements.
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication, Interpersonal, and Analytical Skills.
  • Self-Motivated, Assertive, and Capable of Working Independently or Collaboratively.
  • Strong Organizational and Time Management Abilities; Calm and Composed Under Pressure.
  • Willingness to Work Extended Hours if Needed.
  • Solid Understanding of and Strict Adherence to HIPAA Regulations and Internal Compliance Policies.
