Database Administrator Role

As a seasoned Database Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and availability of our organization's databases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for complex database issues, providing expert-level support to resolve performance, security, storage, and availability incidents.
  • Manage the installation, configuration, upgrades, and migrations of databases, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Implement software updates and patches for database systems, prioritizing security patches to mitigate vulnerabilities and bugs.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of database performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing optimizations to enhance database speed and efficiency.
  • Develop and enforce robust security policies, managing user access and protecting sensitive data from unauthorized access.
  • Oversee regular database backups to ensure business continuity and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including application developers, fellow DBA and DevOps specialists, and other IT departments, to ensure streamlined operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, continuously improving processes and procedures to meet evolving business needs.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration.
  • Proven expertise in supporting and administering Oracle Golden Gate.
  • Oracle Cloud Experience and ATP Autonomous DBaaS are highly desirable.
  • Strong background in Performance Tuning and Optimization.
  • Experience in backup and restore, including redirected restoration.
  • In-depth understanding of Oracle architecture and security principles.
  • Flexibility to adapt to shifting schedules and priorities.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Familiarity with other database platforms, such as Azure SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or CosmosDB.
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices and change management processes.
  • Familiarity with Linux environments.
