Senior Utility Engineer

About the Role:

  • As a Senior Utility Engineer, you will lead detailed inspections of overhead utility infrastructure, ensuring data integrity and contributing to process improvements within the electric utility sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead inspections of overhead utility infrastructure, identifying faults and hazards.
  • Perform advanced data analysis, ensuring high standards of accuracy and data quality.
  • Oversee QA/QC processes for work packages and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Provide feedback and contribute to process improvements.
  • Work closely with internal teams to align data accuracy with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with utility companies to ensure project goals and deliverables are met.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, regulations and best practices to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance technical knowledge and skill development.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in the electric utility field (preferred).
  • Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills (must-have).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (must-have).
  • Proficient computer skills with good written and oral communication abilities (must-have).
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), national engineering standards, utility construction standards and best industry engineering practices (nice-to-have).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to work remotely and coordinate effectively with a distributed workforce.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and applying new technologies within the utility sector.
