Job Description

Our team is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Canadian Tax Specialist to support the client's real estate and development portfolio. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and preparing reports under the guidance of the client's leadership and Canadian accounting partners.

This role is perfect for someone with strong bookkeeping skills who is eager to learn and grow within a dynamic company.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online (Canadian edition)
  • Processing transactions and reconciling bank and credit card statements
  • Preparing data and schedules required for Goods and Services Tax (GST)/Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) returns for review and filing by our Canadian accountant
  • Assisting in gathering documentation for year-end tax preparation and audits

Work hours are 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM Manila time (6:00 PM – 4:00 AM Toronto time), and work set-up is remote.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a bookkeeping or junior accountant role
  • Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online, preferably with international versions
  • Experience working with international clients is highly desirable
  • Skilled in using Google Sheets/Excel for data management and tracking
  • Familiarity with receipt management tools like Hubdoc is a plus
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills
