We are a leading company in the electric power industry, dedicated to providing innovative solutions for the management of electricity markets.

Our Team:

  1. We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Wholesale Trader to join our team.
  2. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical skills, with the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret complex data related to electricity markets.
  3. This role requires effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and customers.
  4. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant experience in the electric power industry, with a preference for those with a working knowledge of WESM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Monitoring: Monitor and track the dispatch of power plants to ensure compliance with operational requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Supply Offers: Prepare and submit offers for electricity supply to the market, considering factors such as market demand, pricing, and contractual obligations.
  • Customer Coordination: Collaborate with customers to coordinate and manage bilateral contract quantities, ensuring precise communication and alignment with contractual obligations.
  • Operational Support: Collaborate with system operators, market operators, and plant operation personnel to facilitate smooth day-to-day operations, address operational issues, and ensure compliance with market regulations.
  • Contract Management: Prepare and submit accurate and timely Bilateral Contract Quantities to the WESM, reflecting the contracted supply and demand volumes.
  • Database Updates: Regularly update the trading database with relevant market data, transaction details, and other information necessary for efficient trading operations.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all market transactions adhere to the rules and regulations set by the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit necessary reports to fulfill compliance requirements of the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market.
  • Trading Analysis: Generate and submit comprehensive reports on a daily and weekly basis, detailing trading operations, market trends, and relevant market updates.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement within the trading group and contribute to the development and implementation of efficient workflows and procedures.
  • Price Simulation: Utilize appropriate tools and methodologies to conduct electricity price simulation and forecasting, supporting decision-making processes.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other functions related to Commercial Operations as may be assigned from time to time.
