3D Image Conversion Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled 3D image conversion specialist to transform high-resolution 2D portrait images into 3D bas-relief point cloud models for subsurface crystal engraving.

This role involves converting 2D images (JPEG/PNG) into 3D point cloud models with raised facial features (bas-relief effect), enhancing image clarity and contrast, ensuring compatibility of point cloud files with engraving machine formats (e.g., OBJ), scaling and aligning models to match crystal dimensions (e.g., 5cm cube), and performing quality checks to deliver engraving-ready files for production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transform 2D images into 3D point cloud models using advanced software tools.
  • Optimize image clarity and contrast to achieve the best possible depth and detail in the final output.
  • Ensure seamless compatibility between point cloud files and engraving machine formats (e.g., OBJ).
  • Scale and align models to accurately match crystal dimensions.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks to guarantee engraving-ready files.
Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., Blender, MeshLab, or equivalent).
  • Experience with point cloud generation and manipulation.
  • Familiarity with subsurface laser engraving or similar precision manufacturing processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet formatting specifications.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple image conversions efficiently.
Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of bas-relief modeling techniques.
  • Experience in image enhancement and depth mapping.
  • Understanding of OBJ file structure and compatibility standards.
  • Experience with Point Cloud Library in converting images.
