Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Case Manager to join our team at Community Corrections.

The successful applicant will ensure a high level of community safety through the case management of adults subject to orders within the community.

The position acts in accordance with assessed risk and need, maintaining high standards of assessment practices that facilitate effective supervision and improve reintegration and rehabilitation of individuals subject to community-based orders.

The role involves consulting with relevant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations to assist in closing the gap of Indigenous over-representation within the criminal justice system.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Liaising with management, staff and internal and external stakeholders to negotiate service delivery, priorities, deadlines, resources and other relevant issues
  • Working self-sufficiently and coping with the pace, complexity and multi-tasking required in the operating environment
  • Operating within a legislative framework that underpins a core service delivery area
  • Building and managing ongoing working relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Negotiating with key stakeholders on sensitive and complex issues
  • Developing written and oral communication skills
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Possession of a driver's licence, minimum C class Australian licence is mandatory for travel and work across various locations
  • Ability to work outside normal hours, undertake travel to other locations, or temporarily work from an alternate location
  • Completion of Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (Community) within 12 months of commencing employment and certification achieved within 18 months

Relocation expenses may be eligible under the Transfer and Appointment Expenses Directive 11/11. Allowances apply where applicable as negotiated in accordance with the Domestic Travelling and Relieving Expenses Directive 13/23.
