Video Caption Translator

A video caption translator plays a crucial role in making video content accessible to a broader audience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate content within captions/subtitles, documents, web pages, and software applications.
  • Fix incorrect cultural translation issues that were done using machine translation post editing (MTPE).
  • Ability to change translation by confining them to a limited number of words without breaking the meaning.
  • Maintain translation database by using translation management software tools.
  • Provide quality assurance for the translation process.
  • Work with a wide range of media and translation software platforms.
  • Resolve issues associated with translation, localization, and culture.
  • Engage with other departments to provide translation services.
  • Implement feedback and changes whenever possible.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications or linguistics from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum four years experience in the translation field with expertise in linguistic analysis and cultural adaptation.
  • Proficiency in any translation management system (TMS) tools and software applications.
  • Knowledge of the translation process, terminology, and localization techniques.
  • Familiarity with localization guidelines and standards.
  • Ability to convert written materials into a second language with fluency and accuracy.
  • Excellent translation, writing, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in at least two of the target languages.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

The ideal candidate should have a natural understanding of the target language and a good grasp of grammar rules. He/She should be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve project goals.
