Electrical Engineer


The role is focused on delivering innovative and sustainable solutions in the field of electrical engineering. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering principles, with experience in designing and implementing complex systems.


About the Role
  • This Electrical Engineer position involves carrying out independent research and development of new technologies, including renewable energy sources, to support mission-critical engineering applications.
  • You will be responsible for preparing presentations to share new engineering solutions with both clients and internal teams, as well as supporting the creation and delivery of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions to disseminate the latest knowledge within the organization.
  • In this role, you will undertake supervised design work, taking delegated responsibility for the preparation of aspects of new and innovative engineering designs for Mechanical or Electrical installations, systems, etc.
  • The successful candidate will also be involved in the innovation of new designs that aim to minimize the operational and environmental impact of energy systems, working towards a net zero impact energy system solution for complex buildings and applications.
  • You will liaise with various suppliers, contractors, and other professionals regarding designs and coordination of installations.
  • This role requires the preparation of specification modifications using word or excel.
  • An interest in reliability modeling for mission-critical applications is highly desirable.
  • Able and willing to work on whole life cycle analysis (WLCA).
  • You will support the delivery of projects in accordance with the expectations of the RED Project Delivery Process from a Project Management, Financial Management, QA/QC, and Technical Review perspective.

Requirements
  • Bachelor, MSc/MEng or PhD in an appropriate engineering discipline.
  • Working towards MCIBSE/MIEE or equivalent certification.
  • Ability to research independently.
  • Ability to think innovatively.
  • A good understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering first principles.
  • Ability to prioritize own workload.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Technical report writing skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Advanced user of Excel.
  • Ability to use IT-based calculation and modeling software.
  • Basic working knowledge of CAD functionality.
  • Basic understanding of key Health & Safety issues and legislation.
  • Basic understanding of BS EN standards/UK Regulations/Codes/UTI/UKGBC.
  • Good understanding of the world climate emergency.
