Backend Software Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Software Developer to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience with JavaScript and Node.js, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to code quality.

  • Implement backend services and features using Node.js and JavaScript
  • Follow established coding conventions, patterns, and architectural guidelines
  • Conduct thorough manual QA and testing of implemented features
  • Read and understand detailed requirements, asking clarifying questions when needed
  • Collaborate with the lead engineer for seamless integration with existing systems
  • Write clean, maintainable code adhering to Applause's engineering standards
  • Participate in code reviews, focusing on learning and consistency
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues methodically and thoroughly

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Requirements:
  • JavaScript and Node.js (5+ years of experience)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to code quality
  • Excellent ability to follow established coding styles and conventions
  • Proven track record of implementing features based on written requirements and specifications
  • Experience with manual QA and testing methodologies
  • Strong reading comprehension and the ability to ask clarifying questions
  • Experience with databases (PostgreSQL or similar)
