Job Role

Pet Circle is an expanding e-commerce business focused on pets, with a mission to build the most engaged community of pets and pet parents.

We're looking for a highly skilled and passionate software engineer to join our Customer Tribe. This is a hands-on, highly technical role in a fast-paced environment with a squad of engineers, a product manager, a QA engineer, and a designer.

You'll contribute to customer-facing systems, from the website and app to critical communication channels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, from designing and building robust solutions to deploying and monitoring them in production.
  • Tackle complex technical challenges with a high degree of autonomy, bringing innovative and outside-the-box solutions to the team.
  • Collaborate closely with your squad to define technical requirements and architect scalable, high-performance systems.
  • Write clean, well-tested code in our primary stack, while also maintaining and modernizing legacy applications.
  • Instill a culture of strong ownership and accountability for the software you build.
  • Be a champion for the user experience, ensuring that every technical decision you make has a positive impact on the end user.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Significant hands-on experience in full-stack software engineering, with a strong focus on building scalable and resilient applications.
  • Deep proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Next.js, with backend experience in NestJS and Java.
  • Good understanding of testing frameworks like Jest, as well as performance testing and E2E testing.
  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms, ideally with Google Cloud (GCP) or AWS.
  • Proven knowledge of software architecture and best practices for building cloud-native applications.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and an understanding of how to automate and improve deployment processes.
  • A solid understanding of monitoring, observability, and the tools used to ensure application health and performance.
