Job Overview

This position involves the installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting of fiber networks to support transformation projects. As a fiber optic technician, you will be hands-on in deploying optical rollout teams delivering on-ground deployment excellence.

The Role:
  • Perform fiber cable installation, termination, and fusion splicing.
  • Conduct OTDR testing, power meter validation, and connector end-face inspection.
  • Maintain tools and testing equipment to ensure reliable performance.
  • Assist engineers during commissioning and cutover activities.
  • Document all field activities, including test results and installation logs.
  • Ensure fiber handling best practices and safety compliance at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with cross-functional teams to plan, coordinate, and execute fiber optic installations.
  • Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and resolve complex fiber network issues.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior technicians as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in fiber optic technology.
Requirements:
  • 2–4 years hands-on experience in fiber optic installation, splicing, and testing.
  • Vocational/Technical diploma or certification in telecom or fiber optics.
  • Skilled in fusion splicing machines, OTDR, and fiber inspection scopes.
  • FOA certifications (CFOS-S, CFOT) are highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with both single-mode and multi-mode fiber deployments.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in field deployment environments.
