About the Role

This senior Android engineering position is a key contributor to our text-to-speech app in the Play Store, requiring strategic thinking, passion for product decisions, and experience building great user experiences that delight users.

The ideal candidate will own major features, work closely with our design team, shape the future of our Android team, and maintain reliability metrics for key features. They should have 5+ years of software engineering experience, familiarity with Android components, and experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Owning major features and working closely with our design team.
  • Shaping the future of our Android team.
  • Own, maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features.
  • Participating in discussions across different teams - Product, Design, Engineering.
  • Reviewing pull requests, and supporting other teammates.
  • Handling critical issues or coping with unexpected challenges.

We use Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, Room, Jetpack Navigation, JUnit tests and more. We foster a flat organization where technical skills and delivering results consistently are paramount.
