Job Description

This is an exciting career opportunity for a skilled Drafter who is passionate about delivering exceptional work and committed to excellence.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a key role in coordinating with engineering partners, providing prompt customer support, and maintaining organized documentation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Researching and finding plats or surveys using local GIS, recreating lot lines, developing options for house placement and orientation, generating site layout options, and ensuring complete and accurate agency submittals while following OR and WA permitting procedures.
  • Generating lot-specific drawings, revising existing plan documents with engineering details, and organizing work for computer access.
  • Providing timely support to builders on-site and expediting permitting by liaising with city/county staff.
  • Producing address-specific plans within set deadlines, updating and managing the plan library per manager's directives, creating new plan designs from schematics to the design development stage, and executing SPR drafting tasks.
  • Fielding questions and updating previously distributed work promptly, supporting the Permit Coordinator with submittal materials and questions, and analyzing, researching, and defending drawings to jurisdictional reviewers as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • An associate's degree in the related field; bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of drafting experience or equivalent.
  • Residential construction or home remodeling drafting experience required.
  • Familiarity with building codes and permitting standards in WA and OR preferred.
  • Ability to conduct internet research and familiarity with local GIS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Hands-on construction experience (e.g., framing) is helpful but not required.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to build rapport.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
