Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced bookkeeper to provide high-quality bookkeeping services for our Australian clients. The ideal candidate must have expertise in Xero and QuickBooks, with a strong understanding of Australian accounting standards, GST, BAS, and payroll processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.
- Process payroll, superannuation, and employee entitlements in compliance with Australian regulations.
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other required tax filings.
- Generate and analyze financial reports to support business decisions.
- Manage month-end and year-end financial closing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Australian tax laws and financial regulations.
- Work closely with accountants, auditors, and other stakeholders.
- Assist with budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial planning.
- Handle bookkeeping-related inquiries from clients and provide professional support.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
- At least 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in an Australian business environment.
- Proficiency in Xero and QuickBooks (Certification is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of Australian GST, BAS, payroll, and superannuation regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
