Key Responsibilities

The Senior IT Application Specialist is responsible for managing the health and performance of the ServiceNow platform through preventive maintenance, timely troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and proactive identification of potential issues.

  • Develop and implement strategies to drive continuous improvement of the platform and optimize processes and user experience.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of all development efforts, including use cases, configuration, customizations, and integrations, to facilitate maintainability, knowledge transfer, and future development efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other staff and squads to problem-solve and ensure consistency of processes.
  • Embody Aurecon's safety culture and adhere to obligations, actively participating in implementing safe systems of work.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • At least 4 years' experience in implementation, customization, and administration of ServiceNow ITSM and ITOM.
  • Strong experience in application development and support in a Global Shared Services setup.
  • Extensive experience in ServiceNow ITSM and ITOM.
  • Expertise in platform configuration and customization, including scripting and workflow automation, to meet business requirements and deliver solutions that adhere to best practices.
  • Ability to analyze requirements, design, and build service request fulfillment workflows, and develop comprehensive documentation.
  • Experience in ServiceNow integrations with external systems using Orchestration, Web Services, Soap calls, etc. to sync, manipulate, and maintain data between ServiceNow and other systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting, monitoring, and incident resolution skills.
  • Experience in ServiceNow OOTB reporting and dashboard creation.
  • Experience in maintaining security requirements within ServiceNow instances, including tasks such as security patch installation, upgrades, cloning, etc.
  • Sound understanding of IT infrastructure, ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, asset management business process, and e-bonding solutions.
  • Capability to create automated test frameworks and provide estimates.
  • Excellent ability to create high-quality functional/technical documentation and technical requirements gathering skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in Agile methodology and Scrum.
