We are seeking a skilled Linux Kernel Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with Linux kernel development, including driver development and testing.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the global team to develop and maintain the Linux kernel for various platforms.
- Develop and test kernel drivers for new hardware platforms.
- Work closely with external silicon and cloud teams to ensure seamless integration of Ubuntu on different architectures.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in the kernel reported by customers and community members.
- Take ownership of delivering high-quality Ubuntu Linux kernels for diverse use cases.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Strong understanding of Linux kernel fundamentals, including process management, file systems, and device drivers.
- Proficiency in C programming language.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for company events.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Rust programming language.
- Python and Bash scripting skills.
- Experience with Ubuntu/Debian/Snap packaging.
- Demonstrated expertise in kernel patching and debugging.
- Familiarity with device drivers, BSPs, and low-level system engineering.
