Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned accounting professional to join our team as a Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting practices, with expertise in U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing tax filings, and conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards.

You will oversee the entire accounting cycle, ensuring timely and accurate financial statement preparation in compliance with U.S. GAAP. This includes conducting monthly and annual closing processes, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and balance sheet reconciliations.

In addition, you will administer accounts payable and receivable, ensuring efficient processing, payment of invoices, and collection of revenue. You will also prepare and file tax returns, both federal and state, and ensure compliance with all tax regulations and deadlines.

Your responsibilities will include developing and monitoring internal controls and policies to ensure financial data integrity and security. You will collaborate with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial practices.

You will also participate in budget preparation and financial forecasting, providing insights and analysis for strategic decision-making. Furthermore, you will implement and optimize accounting software and systems to improve financial reporting and operational efficiency.

As a Senior Accountant, you will provide financial analysis and reports to management, highlighting key trends, variances, and areas for improvement. You will also act as a financial advisor within the organization, offering guidance on financial best practices, expense management, and investment opportunities.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting for U.S. companies
  • Proficiency in financial accounting software, with a strong preference for experience in QuickBooks
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in the U.S. and experience with financial statement preparation
  • Fully fluent in English
  • Ability to commit long-term and work full-time
  • Ability to work U.S. business hours (Pacific Time, Central Time, or Eastern Time)
