Medical Wound Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Wound Care Specialist to manage patient wound care records, verify insurance eligibility, and coordinate the supply of essential medical materials. This role requires expertise in meticulous documentation and effective communication to ensure patients receive the care they need.
The Wound Care Specialist will be responsible for:
- Managing patient wound care records, including verifying insurance eligibility and coordinating supply needs.
- Pulling reports and documents for patients with wounds at home during review.
- Communicating with the Payer team to determine insurance eligibility.
- Assessing which wounds are eligible for supplies under Medicare medical necessity guidelines.
- Storing and organizing records of clinical details, dispensing orders, and documents.
- Entering patient, wound, and dressing data into wound orders and spreadsheets.
- Validating medical necessity for existing orders and documenting changes accurately.
- Communicating with staff at homes via email and phone for clarifications on clinical questions or timeline on order signatures required for delivery dates.
- To manage and maintain accurate patient records.
- To communicate effectively with the payer team and staff at homes.
- To assess wound eligibility for supplies under Medicare medical necessity guidelines.
- To validate medical necessity for existing orders and document changes accurately.

Requirements- At least 2 years of experience in clinical wound care.
- Diploma/ Degree in Nursing, Medicine or related field.
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong critical thinking and customer service skills.
- Diploma/ Degree in Nursing, Medicine or related field.
- Knowledge of eligibility, Medicare and product guidelines for education sessions i.e., Noridian LCD.
